Description of Project: Realizing the importance of reshoring our pharmaceutical supply chain, HHS ASPR undertook efforts beginning in 2019 and during Operation Warp Speed in 2020 to accelerate the building of a new U.S.-based, high-speed, population-scale manufacturing capacity for pre-filled syringes, investing a total of $181 million. These combined projects commercialized Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) manufacturing in the United States and established capacities to manufacture a minimum of 45 million prefilled syringes per month.
Unique Impact: This contract will allow for the manufacturing of prefilled syringes for distribution across the United States.
