Health Care Professionals Registration
Take the first step in preparing to volunteer to help after a disaster or emergency. Register with the ESAR-VHP to have your credentials verified before disaster strikes and take some basic training so you are ready to serve. If you are clinically active, have been clinically active in the past, are retired and have lapsed credentials, you can register to volunteer. Registration does not obligate you to serve as part of a disaster response, but it could clear a path to a meaningful volunteer opportunity during a crisis if you do choose to help.
Eligibility
During a disaster, many different skill sets can be used to help save lives. You may be able to register with ESAR-VHP if you are clinically active in a hospital, nursing home shelter, or other medically relevant environment. You may also be able to register if you are a student in a healthrelated field, a retired health care professional (even if you no longer hold a current license), or if you have health care experience or education that could assist clinicians in providing basic health care not controlled by scope of practice laws.
