G. Justin Yang: Just as pathogens never cease to evolve and adapt, so must BARDA. We need to always look for and nurture great ideas wherever we can and meet entrepreneurs wherever they are. Over a decade of successful public-private partnerships has taught us that it takes much more than a check to bring lifesaving medical countermeasures to people. With BARDA Ventures we bring that expertise to help make entrepreneurs successful so we can be prepared when the next public emergency hits.
This is a self-sustaining partnership, with proceeds recycled back into the fund for additional investments. Through this partnership BARDA is planting seeds to grow and nurture new technologies to maturation, so we can plant more again.
