SNS-Held Ventilator Resources

The Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) can provide a variety of ventilator models to supplement state and local supplies in an emergency, and each ventilator has different features and modes of ventilation. Check out the training resources below to learn more about specific ventilator models.​


​The following ventilators are covered under the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’s COVID-19 Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) or FDA’s Enforcement Policy.

​FDA Device Recall – Ventilator

*Philips EV300*RECALL

In response to the August 2021 FDA Class 2 Device Recall of the Trilogy EV300​, the SNS recovered and/or replaced all Philips Trilogy EV300 ventilator models deployed to U.S. health jurisdictions for COVID-19. SNS is coordinating closely with federal and commercial partners to resolve the recall issue.

​Additional Ventilator Updates

Software upgrades are currently in progress for the Philips Trilogy Evo Universal ventilator.

To learn more about using ventilators duri​​ng an emergency, the SNS has partnered with the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC)​ to create training materials focused on scarce resource allocation, mass respiratory failure, and stockpiled mechanical ventilators.

​Ventilator Training App

Put ventilator training materials in the palm of your hand! For easy access to training materials on some of the ventilator models supplied by the SNS, download the Ventilator Training Alliance app​ for iOS​ and Android​. The app includes resources on products by various manufacturers of ventilators that are currently contained in the SNS: GE Healthcare, Hamilton Medical, Philips, Ventec Life Systems, and Vyaire.

Open Critical Care is a comprehensive, open access library of critical care educational resources for healthcare clinicians. This repository includes content that can be used for training at various levels and for multiple healthcare units.

Open Critical Care’s Respiratory Care Pocket Guide​ is a is a great resource for healthcare clinicians caring for patients requiring respiratory support due to respiratory distress. It offers general respiratory information on how to safely provide various types of respiratory therapies. These therapies include ARDS management, mechanical ventilation, non-invasive oxygen delivery, oxygen sources & deliveries devices, pediatric respiratory support, respiratory monitoring, and respiratory.​​​​​​​
