NDMS Response Stories from the Field
Healthcare professionals from the National Disaster Medical System take action when natural or manmade disasters and other public health emergencies impact a community’s health care system.
NDMS responders have answered the call to protect the health and safety of Americans in disaster situations from hurricanes to wildfires, and, during the COVID-19 pandemic, from administering COVID-19 tests, vaccines, and therapeutics to addressing patient surges that overwhelm local, state, tribal, and territorial health care facilities.
