Student Volunteer Opportunity: Program Analyst

Overview:

The HHS/ASPR Coordination Operations and Response Element (H-CORE) is a new organization (established January 1 of this year) nested within ASPR. H-CORE is the evolution of the U.S. government's COVID-19 medical countermeasures response operation, which began with Operation Warp Speed in 2020 and grew with the Countermeasures Acceleration Group in 2021.

Our roles and responsibilities are ever-changing as we continue to support the current public health emergency and preparing for future ones.  We are looking for individuals who are looking to learn something new and bring innovation to our team! 

Volunteer Duties and Responsibilities:

• Completing the relevant training and asking questions if you are uncertain about anything.
• Completing all duties assigned by the supervisor and reporting any issues immediately.
• Arriving on time for duty and remaining professional in your interactions with all stakeholders.
• Making recommendations for improvement where feasible and appropriate.
• Communicating with the supervisor or relevant stakeholders when you are running late or unable to fulfill your duties.
• The volunteer will perform a variety of tasks based on project deadlines. The duties may include a variety of administrative tasks as assigned by program managers.
• Volunteers will assist with providing preparation, coordination, and follow up for all meetings (i.e., prepare meeting announcements, agendas, and presentation materials, develop meeting minutes and after-action correspondence for leadership review and approval).
• Synthesizing information provided from across H-CORE and outside agencies to enable the organization to discern key facts and issues.
• Coordinating special projects, assignments and follow up actions with program manager or section leaders as required.
• Other duties as required.

Start Date and Duration

This position will begin in early 2023 for a duration of no more than six months.  Starting dates will vary.  The number of hours per week for this position will be determined jointly by the volunteer and the program management.
